Today Sarah will be reading us one of the poems from her new poetry collection, 'You Do Not Need Another Self Help Book'. Before you listen, here's what people are saying about her book:
"Subtly angled glimpses of love, sex, marriage, which reveal them as they really are: matters of life and death. There's a quiet sizzling underneath the surface of these poems, which can make you smile and wince at the same time." ~Philip Gross
"Sarah Salway gets under the skin of your secrets and makes you squirm in delicious recogntion. I come undone whenI read her words. Her poetry slays me." ~Susannah Conway
"Sexy and tragic - my favourite combination." ~Will Hermes
So - get yourself a cup of tea, settle down, and listen to Sarah reading one of her favourites: Through Carved Wooden Binoculars. I want.....
Sarah's book, 'You Do Not Need Another Self Help Book', is available now from Pindrop Press.
It includes poems that have been published by Poetry London, the Financial Times, Pen International and the Virago Book of Shopping. Sarah says she is "channeling Raymond Carver with my poetry, hoping that they are ‘reader’s poems’ rather than ‘critic’s poems’".

I haven't been passing by the blog as much lately, mostly because I've been immersed in books, and blank pages begging to be filled (and sometimes getting what they beg for!). Since last week I've been treating myself to a poem or two from Sarah's book each day - and it really is a treasure - today 'Seeds' blew me away!
Thank you, Fiona. It was lovely to be here!
And also Jem - hurrah for filling blank pages. I'm flattered you've been 'travelling' with me!
hello jem! glad the writing is happening...
You really have great potential and consistency!Self Help
